Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmark of the organization’s programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically and economically. We meet the challenges of the day and continue to grow through Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service. Our mission in expanding into the Fraternity and Sorority Life community at UT Dallas is two-fold:

  • To assist UT Dallas in achieving its strategic goals of increasing retention and graduation rates and becoming a Tier One institution, and

  • To assist in the development of the UT Dallas fraternity and sorority community by increasing its students’ opportunities to succeed within the increasingly global community.

Why Sigma?

Sisterhood. Scholarship. Service. Social Action. - The four pillars of which all programming and events hosted by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. are anchored around. The Sorority has a footprint throughout the US and abroad and is committed to enriching the quality of life for women and their families through community service, civil, and social action.

At UTD, Sigma Gamma Rho is committed to assisting the university in fulfilling its vision through the promotion of high scholastic achievement with an emphasis on academic excellence. The Sorority provides leadership development opportunities to its members and the student body, and high quality programming with an emphasis on civic responsibility.

In addition to the service and scholarship events that the Sorority hosts, members of Sigma Gamma Rho enjoy a lifelong bond of sisterhood. From road trips to game nights to fashion shows and everything in between, Sigma Gamma Rho is more than just a sorority, it’s a way of life.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is a lifelong commitment with a rich legacy and membership in the Sorority continues beyond the collegiate experience. Women who join the Sisterhood continue their membership after graduation through the alumnae experience.
